Opera Night- Rodelinda
Baroque returns to SHYC with Handel's Rodelinda, a dramatic tale of power, anguish and love. Bertarido, King of Milan, has lost his throne to the usurper Grimoaldo. The rightful ruler has fled abroad and circulated a false report of his own death, while his grieving wife Rodelinda is left behind to face Grimoaldo's unwanted attentions. When the exiled king returns in disguise, everyone is put to the test. Renée Fleming and Andreas Scholl star in this Metropolitan Opera performance conducted by Harry Bicket.
