Mystic Seaport Rendezvous

Every year people come from across the country to visit the Mystic and the Seaport, but for us it is right in our backyard! September is a fabulous month on the water, and we will be wrapping up our 2019 cruise season at Mystic Seaport after the crowds thin out. Full itinarary below, as well as registration information

Friday        September 20 -For boaters who want to arrive early, dock fees are “two nights for the price of one” so it’s a free evening.

Saturday   September 21
13:00    Curator’s perspective - JMW Turner: Watercolors from Tate. 
Nicholas Bell, Mystic Seaport Museum’s SVP for Curatorial Affairs, discusses the upcoming Turner exhibition.     

14:00  Behind-the-scenes tour of Mystic Seaport’s Collections.

17:30  Saturday Cocktails
Fender board cocktail party – food and beverages at dockside (bring what you want to consume & share).

Sunday     September 22

09:30   LA Dunton Tour
The LA Dunton is one of the Museum’s four National Historic Landmark Vessels, and distinctive as it was designed by Thomas McManus, built by AD Story, and unaltered since its days fishing the Grand Banks.  The tour will highlight the vessel’s history and the structural considerations for rebuilding the Dunton.

10:30  Free-time - Antique Car Show
Guests are free to explore the Museum, taking advantage of the showing of the Museum’s 22nd Annual By-Land-and-By-Sea Antique Vehicle Show.

Dock Reservations/Admission    
Participating SHYC and EYC members coming by boat will register for dockage at our membership rate of $3.25 a foot per night.  The fee will cover the cost of general admission and behind-the-scenes tours.  Members coming by land/car will pay general admission at the gate unless they are members of the Museum, in which case admission if free.
